Back to the Roots: Ethiopia & Kenya

The Afrodescendant Leadership Alliance (ALA) presents Back to the Roots, a 12-day travel initiative from January 7-18, 2025, connecting Canadian entrepreneurs with Africa’s economic opportunities. Spanning four days in Ethiopia and eight in Kenya, the program offers networking, cultural immersion, and business engagement, fostering collaboration and strengthening trade ties between Canada and Africa.

Connecting, Celebrating, and Growing Together

In November 2023, the Afrodescendant Leadership Alliance (ALA) launched its first newsletter, highlighting a partnership with CDPQ to support Black entrepreneurs, an entrepreneurship event at Microsoft Canada, and the Black Youth Excellence initiative connecting students to top industries. The inaugural ALA Gala in Montréal brought together 300+ attendees to celebrate achievements and future opportunities.
